Cordin's Rotating Mirror CCD cameras are the descendent of the rotating mirror film cameras installed in many labs worldwide for which Cordin is well known.

These systems use a complex optical system centered on a multi-faceted mirror that spins at very high speeds. This action distributes the image to individual CCD channels which record the frames. The total number of frames the camera captures depends on the number of channels.

This approach yields the best image quality available in ultra-high speed applications.

These cameras have maximum rates from 200,000 to 25 million frames per second.

Model 530 Camera

The Model 530 camera is the most economical in this product range. It has sixteen frames and is capable of 200,000 frames per second.

Model 535 Camera

The Model 535 camera is the same as the Model 530 camera except it is configured with a gas driven turbine. It is capable of 1 million frames per second.

Model 550 and 570 Cameras

These are the flagship models of the Cordin Rotating Mirror product line. They are available in various configurations depending on number of frames and resolution desired. See chart below for details.

Model 510 Camera

This camera is a lower resolution camera made for the fastest speeds. It is capable of 25 million frames per second.

It is equivalent to the Brandaris 128 camera, which Cordin developed in partnership with Erasmus University.

Options

CCDs - Monochrome or Color. Monochrome is approximately 2.5 times more sensitive than color. Color configuration is single chip Bayer screen color.

Rotating Mirror Drive - The 550 and 570 cameras are available with either electric drive or gas turbine drive. Electric drive is simpler and less costly to operate. Gas turbine drive allows for faster framing rates. The fastest framing rates with the gas turbine drive require helium fill for the camera and helium drive.

Double pulse - In this configuration, each CCD channel is capable of capturing two frames each, thereby doubling the total number of frames the camera will capture. This configuration requires a Cordin light source.
